Putting everything aside and moving it back to where it belongs will probably take more time than the actual cleaning. Keep the counters clear

This tip is closely related to the last point but focuses on flat surfaces such as countertops, shelves, or window sills. These areas tend to be clutter magnets since it’s easy to just dump random stuff on them. Keeping your counters as empty as possible will not only make the regular dusting much faster but will also mean that there’s much less visual clutter in sight.

Designate a spot for each item

Sort your belongings into categories (incoming mail, documents, kitchen utensils, shoes, accessories – you name it), and designate a fixed place for them. It will probably take you some time to get used to it, but when you do, you’ll automatically put everything back to where it belongs, and avoid finding random items in the most unexpected places and wondering how on earth they ended up there.
