Take 1-1.5 gallons of water and add 4 to 6 drops of dish soap. The water must be warm enough. Mix the solution with your mop and then wring it out. Keep holding it until it stops dripping. Then, use even strokes to mop the linoleum floor. Start cleaning from the edges and do not walk on the mopped floor. Let the solution sit for some time and then, use clean water to mop the floor once again. Do not step on the floor until the air dries it completely. It is a great way to clean the linoleum flooring on a regular basis. But, if your linoleum floor is stained, you need a tougher solution.

Use Baking Soda and Vinegar for Cleaning Linoleum Floors

For making this solution, mix 2 tablespoons of vinegar and 1 2/3 cups of baking soda along with half cup water. Stir the solution so that no lumps remain and pour it in a clean spray bottle. Then, spray the solution in different sections of the linoleum floor one at a time. Leave it for a minute so that the solution dissolves the dirt. Now, use warm water to damp a mop for cleaning linoleum floor stained spot. Do not leave the crevices and cracks and mop it thoroughly. Finally, rinse the mop and give a final cleaning to your linoleum floor. Do not walk on the wet floor. Let it air dry.

Use Water and Borax for Cleaning Linoleum Floors

Using borax for cleaning linoleum floor is definitely effective but is harmful when ingested or absorbed. So, it must be kept away from the children and the pets.

To make the solution, take a gallon of water and mix 2 tablespoons of borax powder. Stir it so that the powder dissolves completely. Now, wet the mop but wring it so that it doesn’t flood your linoleum floor. Put a little pressure on the soiled or stained areas while cleaning the floor with the solution. Rinse the mop with warm water to evade any streaks. Borax is a great ingredient to keep the pests away.
