Cotton cloths or rags

Paper towels serve the same purpose, but it’s better to look for a more sustainable solution. Cotton cloths can be used on a myriad of surfaces and to dry the dishes. Don’t forget to wash them regularly at a high temperature.

The name might sound ridiculous, but squeegees are essentials for streak-free cleaning of windows and showers. If you want to avoid polishing glass surfaces for ages, you should definitely grab one of them!

Rubber gloves

Even if you use non-toxic and organic cleaning supplies, pursuing a regular cleaning routine will inevitably put a strain on your hands. Get a pair of rubber gloves and use them for any household work (yes, that applies to doing the dishes, too.) Be sure to replace them on a regular basis to keep everything nice and hygienic.

Castile soap, or other non-toxic soap

It’s a multi-purpose product and can be utilized to clean the floors, wash the dishes, or clean the bathtub (to list only some of its uses,) which means you can swap a number of cleaning supplies for one. If you pick castile soap, you’ll have the additional benefit of being able use it in skincare.

Baking soda

Vinegar

Due to its strong smell this choice might seem controversial, but vinegar still remains one of the basic cleaning essentials.
